MIAMI DADE COLLEGE INVITES ALL JAZZ LOVERS TO  JAZZ AT WOLFSON PRESENTS WITH GUITARIST/COMPOSER STEVE ERQUIAGA

Miami, November 9, 2007 – The Arts and Philosophy Department at Miami Dade College continues its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, with guitarist/composer Steve Erquiaga on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at noon.

A San Francisco Bay Area native, guitarist/composer Erquiaga's career has touched many areas of the music world. He has recorded and toured with such varied artists as Bobby McFerrin, Joe Henderson, Les McCann, John Scofield, David Byrne, The Turtle Island String Quartet, and Andy Narell. His group was the featured group at the Music Meeting Jazz Festival in Den Bosch Holland, May 1993. With the Andy Narell group Steve recorded seven albums and toured extensively, performing at such venues as the Montreaux Jazz Festival, The Berlin Jazz Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival.

“Erquiaga is an wonderful guitarist and a uniquely creative composer,” says Dr. Michael Di Liddo, MDC music professor and director of the series. “He has a compositional style unlike any other, one that is influenced by his travels to various parts of the world.”
