BOOK, SCRIPT-AND ACTION SCREENWRITING SEMINAR, FEATURING MAJOR INDUSTRY PROS, SET FOR NOV. 9 HIGHLIGHTING PARTNERSHIP OF MIAMI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AND MIAMI BOOK FAIR INTERNATIONAL TO IMPROVE FILM WRITING SKILLS IN BOOK-TO-FILM ADAPTATION PROCESS

Miami, FL November 6, 2007 – Adding an exciting new dimension to the Miami Book Fair International (MBFI) which is being held Nov. 4-11, film buffs and screenwriters will have a rare opportunity to meet several of the industry’s major players when, in tandem with the 25th anniversary celebration of the Miami International Film Festival (MIFF), the “Book, Script-and Action” adaptation screenwriting seminar will be held Friday, Nov. 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Miami Dade College, 300 N.E. Second Avenue, Miami.

On hand to share information and encouragement to students and writers who choose to pursue a career in book-to-film screenwriting will be director Cecilia Amado and producer Bruno Stropiana, currently developing Nobel Prize nominee Jorge Amado’s classic “Captain of the Sands; Yvon Gerard, director of French publishing giant Gallimard’s “L’Imaginaire Collection”; and Dr. Sam L. Grogg, director of the University of Miami’s School of Communication who will be moderating.
