The mission of Miami Dade College’s Cultural Affairs Department, which houses Cultura del Lobo, is to produce and present the newest, most challenging contemporary and culturally specific work being created in the U.S. and abroad.  The focus is primarily on work from the Americas, programs that are reflective of our multi-ethnic community.

The latest production explores the world of men who set out to become HIV positive through the use of video projections, artful choreography in an in-your-face performance that uses local performers ranging in age from teens to retirement. There will be a post-performance discussion of the event presented in partnership with WLRN-FM’s “Topical Currents.”
Carnival Center is made possible by the public support of the Miami-Dade County; Mayor and the Board of County Commissioners. The Center also receives generous support from private and corporate contributions to the Performing Arts Center Foundation of Greater Miami, and additional public support from City of Miami Omni Community Redevelopment Agency and the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
