MIAMI DADE COLLEGE’S INTERAMERICAN CAMPUS PRESENTS RENOWNED CUBAN MUSICOLOGIST
Miami, November 29, 2007 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) InterAmerican Campus, in collaboration with the National Association of Cuban American Educators (NACAE), continues its Two Shores Series with “Guateque Navideño” – an evening with renowned Cuban musicologist Eduardo Blanco. The performance will take place on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tower Theater at 1508 SW 8th St. in Miami.
Blanco will discuss the origins, content rhythm and melodies of Cuban country music while interpreting its most famous songs. The performance will be presented entirely in Spanish. Dr. Mercedes Cros Sandoval will serve as moderator for the event.
The event will begin with a small reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by discussion and musical interlude at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $10 per person. The box office will open at 6 p.m.
The Two Shore Series offers a variety of monthly events including panels, musical performances, and lectures. These unique educational programs are designed to preserve Cuban culture in the U.S.
