TO SERVE ON ADVISORY BOARD OF
BANK OF FLORIDA – SOUTHEAST
MIAMI, Aug. 29, 2007 – Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus president Dr. Rolando Montoya has been appointed to serve on the advisory board of the Bank of Florida – Southeast Miami-Dade County.
Bank of Florida – Southeast, a $403 million asset bank, first expanded into the Miami-Dade County market in August of 2006.
“It’s a great honor to be selected to serve on this board,” Dr. Montoya said. “I’m proud to represent Miami Dade College in this capacity and I look forward to working with the members of this innovative team.”
Montoya has served as president of MDC’s Wolfson Campus since May of 2003. He joined the college in 1987 and has served in various capacities including dean of academic affairs, department chairperson and professor.
While serving as a professor at MDC, Dr. Montoya’s teaching style was recognized when he was awarded the Carlos Arboleya/NationsBank and the SunTrust Bank endowed teaching chairs. Before joining the college, Montoya served as a business executive in the fields of finance and accounting and as Consul of Costa Rica in Miami.
A native of Camagüey, Cuba, Montoya is a certified management accountant and a certified financial manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Technological Institute of Monterrey, México, a master’s in finance, and a doctorate in higher education administration from Florida International University.
