One question that is always in the mind of science students, who come to him for advisement, is the need for pre-requisites in sciences. His usual answer is "science is so much easier when the foundations are solid. It helps build scientific knowledge one step at the time."

Dr. John Steger holds undergraduate
degrees in Physics, Mathematics and Economics,
a Master's Degree in Meteorology, and a
PhD in Oceanography.
In his
20 year career as a senior officer in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration he held several administrative and management positions. His
teaching experience includes teaching Oceanography at the University of Southern
California and teaching Physical Sciences as an adjunct faculty member at the
Wolfson and Kendall Campuses.
Dr. John Steger has been with
the Miami Dade College family since 2009. |
