Sandra Penagos
Kendall
Campus’ Social Science Department’s Outstanding Student is Sandra
Penagos. After graduating from Miami Coral Park Sr. High School, she
studied to be a computer technician, then changed her field to dental
hygiene. When these fields didn’t satisfy her, she came to Miami Dade.
She has been studying full time here, without summer recesses, and
working full time as well! Even so, she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa
and has a cumulative 3.86 average. Her teachers say she is bright and
inquisitive, is always prepared for class, and writes exceptionally
well. Sandra is already attending FIU, where she maintains an “A”
average in a difficult program. Her major is political science and she
plans to attend law school. We wish her luck.

personal excellence in and out of the Psychology Student Association
with the most current being the first Annual PRIME conference that was
held at the University of Miami. He is also a member of the Phi Theta
Kappa organization, and earned the distinction of being on the Dean’s
List as well. As a member of the Executive Board of the Psychology
Student Association, he has exhibited excellent leadership skills and a
genuine interest in the discipline of Psychology. He currently is
acquiring relevant work experience in the field by serving as a Mental
Health Technician for the Citrus Health Network. In order to continue in
his educational career of psychology, he will be transferring to the
University of Miami where has been awarded the Henry King Stanford
