NEW MDC TRUSTEE, ROBERT H. FERNANDEZ, TO BE SWORN ON TUESDAY, OCT. 16 BY CHIEF JUDGE FARINA AT START OF MONTHLY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
Miami, Sept. 20, 2007 – Miami attorney and community leader Robert H. Fernandez, recently appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to serve on Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees, will be sworn in at the start of the monthly Board meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at 8:00 a.m. by Chief Judge Joseph Farina of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Fernandez is an attorney with the renowned national firm of Akerman Senterfitt and specializes in the areas of disaster preparedness, recovery, commercial policy and litigation. As former Deputy General Counsel for the Executive Office of the Governor, he assisted with pending litigation, executive orders, legislative bills, and public records law, among other legal issues. He is a graduate of Columbia University and New York University School of Law.
Among his many professional activities, Fernandez also serves on the Board of Governors of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
