6 Steps to Starting College at MDC

Apply & Get Admitted

  • Start by completing the MDC admission application and paying the $30 application fee. Returning students do not pay the application fee. High school graduates who attended as dual enrollment students need to complete a new application. Get additional details if you're a veteran or international student. Make sure to select a major from our Academic Programs. Your admission to the college remains incomplete until all required official transcripts are submitted.

Pay Less Tuition

  • If you have been a Florida resident for at least 12 months, you may be eligible for in-state tuition. Proof of Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes is required. Your immigration status is a factor in determining whether you are eligible for an in-state fee reduction.

Create Your MDC Shark Account

  • Your MDC Shark Account is your online access to email, financial aid, scholarships awards, grades and other important information specific to your academic career at MDC.

Get Test Scores and Transcripts

  • You must submit your official ACT and SAT scores to us electronically, in addition to your high school transcript to show proof of high school graduation as well as any college or university attended. This is important because scores that are considered to be at college level, open the door to opportunities such as the American Dream Scholarship.

Apply for Financial Aid

  • You should apply for financial aid even if you think you don’t qualify.  There are many forms of support that you may be eligible for such as the American Dream Scholarship, which requires you to submit a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid application).

Attend New Student Orientation & Get Your Schedule

  • Check your MDC student email account for an email containing details about the orientation. This is where you'll get to know your assigned advisor, find out more about the campus, register for classes and meet other new students. You will leave orientation with your course schedule including days, times and class locations, as well as important information about outstanding payments and due dates.

Tuition Rates

U.S. Veterans, Florida state residents and select out-of-state high school graduates are eligible for tuition discounts. Learn more about Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes.
