The dual enrollment program for home education students consists of the enrollment of an eligible home education secondary student in a postsecondary course creditable toward an Associate degree a career certificate, or a baccalaureate degree.
Home school students will not be charged for application registration, tuition or lab fees.
To participate in the dual enrollment program, an eligible home education secondary student must:
- Provide proof of enrollment in a home education program (Section 1002.4 FL Statutes)
- Be responsible for paying for their books and providing their own transportation
- Submit a sworn statement signed by the parent/legal guardian
- Meet all eligibility requirements applicable to public or private high school students with regard to GPA, and appropriate placement scores
- Submit a MDC Admission Application Form and Dual Enrollment Approval Form with the appropriate signatures from the Home School District Office, certifying that the student is registered in a home education program at Miami-Dade County Public Schools
- Take courses that count toward high school graduation as approved by the Home School Office of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools
