The Lady Shark Softball Team places 4 players on the 2010 NJCAA All American Teams, and 5 on the NFCA All Region Teams. Kristen Exposito, Erika Bennett, Geovanny Nunez, and Vivian Morimoto were named NJCAA All Americans. Veronika Fukunishi, Exposito, Bennett, Nunez, and Morimoto were named to the NFCA All Region Teams.

The 2009 Miami Dade College volleyball team finishes the NJCAA National Tournament 5th in the nation, with a record of 32-5, losing it’s only match in the tournament to the National Championship Team: College of Southern Idaho. Freshman, Yenifer Calcano was named to the NJCAA All Tournament Team.

Head Coach Kiko Benoit was named AVCA Southeast Coach of the Year, and had two players named NJCAA All-Americans. Sophomore Sandra Montoya was named 1st Team All American and freshman, Yenifer Calcano was named 2nd Team All American. Click to read more…….

The Lady Sharks place 3 players on FCCAA All-State Team and 4 on All Tournament Team. All-State Team: Sandra Montoya, Yenifer Calcano, Anne Stebner-Chala. All Tournament: Yenifer Calcano, Sandra Montoya, Mima Hajdukovic, and Anne Stebner-Chala.

Southern Conference Teams

 
 

MDC Volleyball was undefeated in conference play, with a 12-0 record, winning the Southern Conference Championship. The Lady Sharks also place 5 players on 1st Team Southern Conference, and one on 2nd Team. Sandra Montoya was named Conference Player-of-the-Year, and Head Coach Kiko Benoit was named Conference Coach-of-the-Year.

1st Team All Southern Conference: Sandra Montoya, Yenifer Calcano, Anne Stebner-Chala, Mima Hajdukovic, Joy Barquin

2nd Team All Southern Conference: Joana Alvarez .
