The Sharks finish their 2008 season 18-9, 8-4 in the Southern Conference. The Sharks placed 4 student-athletes on the FCCAA All-Southern Conference First Team. Congratulations to Freshman Kashiff Carr, Forward William Coleman, Guard James Beatty and Center Steven Toyloy. Over 200 former Miami Dade players have received basketball scholarships to four-year institutions and eleven MDC players have received NJCAA All-American honors in addition to numerous Southern Conference and FCCAA All-State selections. From the Sharks 2007 Team: Freddy Little, University of North Carolina-Wilmington, Jairo Mendoza, University of New Orleans and Gary Gibson, Eastern Washington University.

The 2008 Men's Basketbal team placed forur Sharks on the FCCAA All-Southern Conference First Team. Sophomore Center Steven Toyloy, Freshman Wing Kashiff Carr, Freshman Guard James Beatty and Freshman Forward William Coleman.
