The Miami Dade College baseball team has started off with a surprisingly rough start as they learn more and more about how they operate together as a team. They currently have an overall record of 8-5 and are trying to get all of the kinks out before conference play begins next week.
The Sharks have a few players that have stood out so far this season. Sophomore Armando Alvarez is leading the team with a batting average of .480 and 9 RBIs; while freshman Bryan Colon currently has a batting average of .400 and 14 hits.
The Shark's pitchers have thrown a total of 87 strikeouts, with RHP Danny Gonzalez leading the team 19 in 11 innings. Sophomore Kyle Carter has thrown 17 strikeouts, in 16 innings, an ERA of 4.50, and also a leader behind the plate with a batting average of .467.
The Sharks have a few home games coming up: Friday, February 28 vs. College of Central Florida at 2:00pm and on Wednesday March 5th the Sharks will be playing Palm Beach State College at 3:00pm.
