The Miami Dade College men’s basketball team hit the road to play at Florida State College - Jacksonville in their annual tournament and split the weekend in nail-biting action, beating Florida State College 71-70 and losing to FCSAA No. 5 Santa Fe College 84-87 in overtime.
In two games for the Sharks, sophomore Darius Perkins led the team with 56 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Also having a great weekend was sophomore Michael Calder with 24 points, five rebounds, six assists, and a block. Freshman Prince Cooper had 20 points and 12 rebounds. While the loss to Santa Fe broke a seven-game winning streak, the Sharks now have an overall record of 7-1.
The Sharks hit the road November 29th-30th for two games. On the 29th, the Sharks play SCF-Manatee, and on the 30th, they travel to play Pasco-Hernando Community College.
