Women`s Basketball

  • The Lady Sharks Women`s Basketball start of the second half of their season strong as they are now 2-1 in the conference beating Broward College 88-59 and East Florida State College 78-49 and losing to Indian River State College in a close battle 59-65.

    On January 8 the Sharks traveled to Broward College ready to play and show the conference what they have been working on all season long. Sophomore Jakia Grimsley came out with a bang having a season high with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals. Also standing strong during this game was Sophomore Vernessa Hinnant scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assist.

    On January 11 the women`s team hit the road again to play Eastern Florida State College in another conference game match up and won again proving that they are a team to be reckoned with. During this game the returning Sophomores led the team to victory with Vernessa Hinnant scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 steals and channel Davis scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.

    The team is ready to prove that they are prepared to rise to the occasion and prove themselves worthy to play basketball in this conference. The Lady Sharks will return to the court on January 18 for a home game match up against Southern Conference team Palm Beach State at 2:00pm.
