Heather J. Belmont, Ph.D., serves as the Director of the Biotechnology Program. Dr. Belmont oversees the day-to-day operations of the program including all programmatic and budgetary issues. Prior to joining the Miami Dade College family in 2005, Dr. Belmont worked for Sunol Molecular Corporation and Altor Bioscience Corporation where she conducted research on therapeutic anti-viral and anti-cancer biologics. She has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and two patent applications. Dr. Belmont holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Miami.
