About SBTRC:

The mission of OSDBU at DOT is to ensure that the policies and goals of the Secretary of Transportation are developed and implemented in a fair, efficient and effective manner to serve small and disadvantaged businesses throughout the nation.


What We Do:

Miami Dade College’s regional SBTRC, which serves Florida, Georgia, Alabama,
Mississippi, Puerto Rico and the U.S.  Virgin Islands seeks to ensure that small, transportation-related businesses across the region are prepared and have an equitable opportunity to participate in DOT direct and DOT funded contracts at the local, state and federal levels.  Services include:

1. Offer business assessment and training.
2. Provide technical assistance free of charge.
3. Inform business community about federal, state, and local procurement opportunities.
4. Make available one-on-one business coaching & counseling.
5. Stage conferences, seminars and workshops centering on small business topics.
6. Assist with referrals, packaging and processing of Short Term Loan.
7. Hands-on instructions for completing DBE Certification application.
8. Hold trainings on Bonding, Project Management, Estimating, Marketing, Short Term Lending, and DBE Certification.
9. Present online trainings in English and Spanish.
10. Place resources of USDOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization at business community’s disposal.
