APPLICATION PROCESS

The Minority Export Training Program is an application driven program.  The US Dept. of Agriculture provides a no-cost export training experience to qualified firms wishing to export for the first time or make exporting a proactive and integral part of their revenue stream.

Via this program the USDA provides training to applicants that:

  • Grow, manufacture, process, produce or distribute a product that is 51% US-agricultural origin
  • Have $1,000,000 in gross sales volume (although firms with lower sales figures can apply)
  • Are “small business” as defined by the US Small Business Administration
  • Are willing to invest in a marketing event after the training.

Successful firms are those willing to invest their time and “mindshare,” that are willing to dedicate someone at least ½ time to export, and are willing to invest in developing new non-US markets.

A firm can complete the application and send it to us (address below) or contact us and we’ll work the form with you.  This is the preferred option, as we learn about  your firm and begin to develop a visceral understanding of what you want to do and how you want to do it.
