Thania Rios is a department chairperson for the School of Business and the School of Computers and Engineering Technologies at Miami Dade College, Homestead Campus. Prior to her current position, she worked in the private sector of accounting as a controller of an international manufacturing company. Ms. Rios has also had many years of experience working as a Certified Public Accountant in auditing and as a business consultant.

Ms. Rios has been active in many Miami Dade College committees and has worked with students in extracurricular activities such as Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Accounting Club. She is committed to the advancement of students.

Ms. Rios received her Master of Accounting from Florida International University and her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Miami .
