Collegewide Faculty Seniority: Criteria for Placement

Category I. Faculty hired before February 9, 2000. Years of service includes:

• All service to the College prior to 2/9/2000 in any full-time pay class.
• All service as a full-time faculty member from 2/9/2000 forward.
• Approved leaves, with and without pay, in any full-time pay class prior to 2/9/2000 and as a full-time faculty member from 2/9/2000 forward.
• All full-time employment prior to 2/9/2000 for faculty members who terminated employment with the College for any reason and were re-hired prior to 2/9/2000.

(Ties broken first by birth month, then date of birth, then by a coin toss, as specified in the UFMDC Contract, Article 3, Section 4.B.).

Category II. Faculty seniority as of February 9, 2000. Years of service includes:

• Only service as a full-time faculty member.
• Approved leaves, with and without pay in full-time faculty status.

(Ties broken first by birth month, then date of birth, then by a coin toss, as specified in the UFMDC Contract, Article 3, Section 4.B.).

NOTE: As of February 9, 2000, full-time faculty members who terminate their employment for any reason and are later re-hired, seniority will be calculated from the actual date of re-employment.
