The laboratory attendance system (LAS) is an Internet-based product that doesn't require any software other than a user's browser and is designed to serve many purposes.  Lab managers can use the system to pull detailed reports on lab usage for individual students and for an entire class while having the flexibility to edit individual student attendance when necessary.  Managers will have the capability to assist faculty to log an entire class into the LAS saving valuable class time.  Managers and faculty will have the capability to pull detailed student attendance reports.  Other features include the ability to create instant reports on students currently using a lab, an inventory system with check out capabilities allowing managers to keep an accurate inventory of materials and equipment, students access to create their own personal lab attendance reports and a help system.  The LAS can also be used to determine peak usage and lab utilization using Excel as an advanced reporting feature.


As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  •  Describe the LAS menus and its purposes
  •  Logon to the LAS
  •  Utilize the reporting features including advance reporting features using Excel
  •  Utilize the inventory system
  •  Utilize the help feature

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
