Description:

New multimedia classrooms offer faculty state-of-the-art computers, projectors with access to the Internet and College network.   Specially designed and easy-to-use controls puts devices such as VHS, DVD and CD-ROM players within easy reach.   Faculty can also access files stored on network drives, eliminating the need for transporting material on floppy disks or CD-ROMs.     This workshop will provide hands-on exposure to the equipment and familiarize participants with the capabilities and possible uses of the system.

Objectives

  As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify controls and describe the use of typical classroom multimedia system equipment

  2. Turn system on and off

  3. Navigate through and "playback" various input sources

  4. Log on to Network, retrieve, open and save files on the "H" drive (eliminating the transportation of files by floppy disk, CD-ROMS)

  5. Playback VHS tapes and/or DVDs

  6. Describe how to connect via the laptop port

  7. Describe how to troubleshoot the multimedia system

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
