Description:
This replay of a webcast workshop featuring a panel of experienced educators will emphasize learning-styles is the most effective route to addressing diversity in the classroom. And, when students know their intellectual strengths, they are empowered to actively take responsibility for their learning. The majority of college students do not learn in the ways most faculty teach, so in this session faculty are challenged to design courses that recognize and respond to a diversity of learning styles. Our experts explain how to use the theories of Multiple Intelligences and personality types to facilitate student success, and provide tools to allow faculty to assess their teaching in terms of Learning Styles. They demonstrate teaching methodologies that help students best utilize each of their multiple intelligences, and describe specific study skills to help students learn most effectively.
 

Objectives

As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Identify the benefits of addressing Multiple Intelligences in the classroom
• Name the components of Learning Style
• State how applying the Myers-Briggs Indicator of student learning helps students
• List brain-based learning applications

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop) 

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
