Description:
This workshop is designed for faculty who are interested in effectively integrating Apple's iPad into their classroom. Participants will receive training on the iPad2 and explore how to use it for their personal and professional life. They will be introduced to several iPad applications that can assist them inn engaging their students. Applications specific for science, mathematics, and technology courses will also be discussed. The goal of this workshop is to improve teaching curriculum by incorporating technology in the classroom.
Following participation in this workshop, faculty will submit a written plan (step-by-step) for how they will implement the iPad and how they will incorporate at least two applications into their specific discipline. They will discuss how this is different from what they have done in the past, and what they hope for as a result of this change to their teaching. Lesson plans are due to Dr. Larrea within two weeks of the workshop.

Objectives

As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Integrate Apple's iPad into the classroom 
• Use appropriate iPad applications for engaging students

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop) 

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
