Description:
The goal of the workshop is to help participants improve instructional pedagogy for math and science courses. 

Following participation in the seminar faculty members will design a teaching application and appropriate assessment tools for their own course
that is informed by the seminar readings, demonstrations, and discussions. The format will ask participants to articulate how they will implement
the new teaching technique (step-by-step description) and assessment, how this is different from what they have done in the past, and what they
hope for as a result of this change in their teaching. The teaching application is due within two weeks of the seminar to the Teaching and Learning
Leader of the Wolfson Campus STEM FYE Title V grant.

 
Learning Objectives

As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

•  The faculty will improve their skills in student engagement 
•  The faculty through taking a cognitive learning style assessment will expand their multimodality instructional strategies
•  The faculty will learn specific science study skills and test taking strategies that they can adapt to their classroom or individual instruction
•  The faculty will learn test anxiety reduction strategies that they can adapt to classroom or individual instruction

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop) 

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
