Workshop: Reconnecting to Earth: Overcoming Obstacles to Action

Course ID - CTD0495

Short Title: Reconnecting to Earth

Audience:       Faculty
Length of Workshop:        6.5 hours
Prerequisite     none

Description:
In this workshop, we will share processes that teach us how to recognize the current plight of the natural world as well as the personal despair created by understanding that plight. In addition, we will explore the social conditioning that keeps us from realizing that humans are deeply embedded in the natural world systems and that these systems are global and interconnected. We will learn that the result of recognizing the place of the humans in the natural world allows us to develop empowerment exercises to turn despair into action within our disciplines, vocations and professions. As we experience these processes as a group, we will develop a deepening sense of community which will also empower us.

* Approved CT&D Workshop for Faculty Professional Development hours.
