Description:
The National Federal Grants Conference will be held on Friday, October
21 at Miami Dade College North Campus. The theme for this years
conference is Advancing Higher Education, Science and Outreach and it
will explore how government and academia can collaborate to overcome
challenges and achieve success. Participants will have an opportunity to
interact with federal officials and learn about government funding
opportunities available to their institutions and organizations.
Participating government agencies include the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the
National Institutes of Health.
Faculty Participants will be asked to research current or future request
for proposals (RFPs) offered under agencies that presented at the
conference, identify a single potential RFP, and develop a 3-5 page
concept paper based on the likely content of the identified RFP (this
can be determined by researching how the RFP was presented during past
award period. Concept papers should include a description of the problem
that the proposal will address, how the grant funds will solve the
problem, and the methods that they will use to solve the problem in
terms of objectives and predicted outcomes.
The concept paper is due to the faculty members' respective campus dean
by November 11, 2011

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system. The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.
You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer. Example: Richard Johnson would be rjohnson (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop)
Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions
Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule. Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited. However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen. CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
