Description:
In this hands-on workshop participants will learn how to use the student system of Odyssey and Advisor IEP in the advisement process. Also, participants will be provided information that facilitates academic advisement procedures, such as updates concerning degree and program requirements. Participants will also access Odyssey and the Academic IEP and perform actual hands-on on registration, advisement, schedule modifications, open class searches, other vital online procedures, and exchange information with colleagues.

Objectives

As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  •  Add, modify and retrieve information using the student system of Odyssey
  •  Identify and use Faculty Quick Menu screens that pertain to academic advisement
  •  Access the student Degree Audit transcripts and test scores form the system
  •  Read, interpret and use the degree audit when advising students
  •  Read, interpret and use the Program sheets when advising students
  •  Access and use the Advisor IEP program when advising students
  •  Register students using the Odyssey system
  •  Identify common prerequisites for the English Literature and English Education major
  •  Access information about programs in English Literature and English Education at other local and state universities

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
