Short Title: VC & Student Services    

Description:
This two hour blended format workshop familiarizes MDC personnel with operations and processes of the Virtual College (VC). The first part: online using ANGEL, the College's Learning Management System. The second part: face-to-face presentation. In addition to providing basic information about the VC, the workshop will also focus on Student Services including Advising, Help Desk, Tutoring, Orientations & Testing services to students who take online courses.

 Objectives

As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Explore the Virtual College (VC) 
• Map out degree programs and courses offered
• Use the Learning Management system
• Track the VC student profile
• Navigate through the student orientation
• Explain about VC's route retention initiatives
• Navigate VC's social media sites
• Chart processes
• Review feedback of orientation assessments

** Online Requirement: The first part of the workshop must be completed online prior to the face-to-face session. The online course will be available to you one day after you register. Log on to http://mycourses.mdc.edu using your regular username and password, then click CTD0795i -Ref # to enter the course.

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop) 

Make a note of the Reference Number for the workshop then go to Registration Instructions

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
