Description:
Faculty leaders in MDC3 have been
charged to organize their discipline peers and lead discussions about
curriculum pathways and potential curriculum redesign. Success in this
role requires strong facilitative leadership skills. This workshop is
designed to augment their current skills and experience with additional
tools and strategies for managing the sometimes difficult discussions
with faculty colleagues. Through a combination of best practices,
relevant case studies and collaborative, interactive learning methods
participants will further develop and improve their facilitation skills.
Participants will prepare for the workshop by completing an inventory of facilitator skills and appraising their strengths as a facilitator. Following the workshop each participant will complete a plan for the curriculum pathway development meetings in their discipline, including a timeline, and submit this to their Academic Dean (within two weeks). The plan will reflect their understanding of their key role in facilitation of this process.
