This is an accessible workshop to assist the visually impaired and teachers of the visible impaired  to understand and use the screen reader JAWS.

Audience:        Faculty, Staff, Administrators
Total Time:      8 hours    
Prerequisite     None

This workshop will offer beginning level instruction in the use of JAWS, a screen reader software.  Participants will be able to check out The Basic Training Cassette Tapes package.  These tapes give the best possible start to mastering Windows with. JAWS. The tape set takes you logically from installing JAWS to working in the Windows environment.  The tapes include actual samples of what you will hear as you perform various Windows and JAWS operations.  Participants will also learn the basic Windows and JAWS commands and will receive Quick Reference cards in large print or Braille as requested.


 As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Install JAWS components into a personal computer
  • Understand the function of the JAWS 
  • Perform basic Windows and JAWS operations
  • Use the JAWS and Windows commands
