Description:  This workshop works best following the PowerPoint Basics workshop.  The focus of this session is not the mechanics of creating a PowerPoint Presentation, but actually presenting what you create in the PowerPoint Basics workshop.  How many bullets should be on a slide and how many fonts should be in a presentation in order to effectively convey your message?  Where should I stand when presenting and how can I combat "stage fright"?   The answers to these and other Presentation related questions will be covered in this session. 


 As a result of participating, individuals will be able to:

  • identify the PowerPoint Screen used for printing handouts and speaker notes.
  • identify the elements of a PowerPoint Presentation created to enhance a message.
  • identify the elements of a PowerPoint Presentation that will distract from the message.

How to Register

Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system.  The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.  

New - Easier registration for workshops

You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer.    Example:   Richard Johnson  would be rjohnson     (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop)  The first time you log in to the Registration Page, you will be asked to accept the Use of Computing Resources at Miami Dade College.    The Accept button is located at the bottom of the screen.

PLEASE NOTE:  You do not have to create a student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop.  You can use your regular network login name and password proceeded by the MDCC\   
  1. Go to the MDC Registration Page.
  2. Choose the Term from the dropdown menu.
  3. Enter your PIN number (If you don't remember your PIN, you can reset it by clicking the Update My Pin button.)
  4. Click the  myMDC  Log In button.
  5. Log in  using your regular username and password.  Your username must be proceeded by the MDCC\

ex.   Joe Smith would login in with

User name -  mdcc\jsmith and his regular password.

Once logged in, you should use Speed Registration.  You must know the Reference number for the workshop you want to take.   You can still  search for workshops using the Course ID or Short title, if you click on Shopping Cart.    The best way to register is by  Reference number.

Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule.    Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited.     However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen.     CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
