Description: Participants will learn how to deliver a 50-minute presentation to students which stresses the essential study skills and behaviors they need to practice if they are to succeed in college. Concentration, listening, storing data for easy retrieval, taking good notes, studying for recall, the Cornell Method of note taking, and the SQ3R method for reading textbooks will be addressed.

How to Register
Registration for CT&D workshops are through the Student Information and Registration system. The process for registering for a CTD workshop will be the same as registering for a regular class at MDC.
You can access the Registration System and register for a CTD workshop using the same user name and password that use to login to your computer. Example: Richard Johnson would be rjohnson (You will NOT need to create a separate student myMDC account to register for a CTD workshop) The first time you log in to the Registration Page, you will be asked to accept the Use of Computing Resources at Miami Dade College. The Accept button is located at the bottom of the screen.
Once logged in, you should use Speed Registration. You must know the Reference number for the workshop you want to take. You can still search for workshops using the Course ID or Short title, if you click on Shopping Cart. The best way to register is by Reference number.
Once you have registered for a class, you can print your schedule. Please make every effort to attend once you've registered as seats are limited. However, If you need to drop, you can also do this through the Web Registration screen. CTD classes will appear on your transcript as non-credit classes.
