How to use and manage a generic exchange account.

 

Step 1a: (For Outlook 2003) Adding the generic email account to your Outlook 2003.

·         In the Outlook 2003 Main Program window click on Tools, then Email Accounts.

·         Click on View or Change Existing Email Accounts under E-mail and click Next

·         In the next window, click Change.

·         In the new window, click More Settings.

·         Click the Advanced tab.

·         Click Add.

·         Enter Alias of Generic Account, click OK.

·         Click OK, click Next, click Finish.

Step 1b: (For Outlook 2007) Adding the generic email account to your Outlook 2007.

·         In the Outlook 2007 Main Program window click on Tools, then Accounts Settings.

·         From the E-mail tab, Click on Change...

·         In the Change E-mail Account window, click More Settings.

·         Click the Advanced tab.

·         Click Add.

·         Enter Alias of Generic Account, click OK.

·         Click OK, click Next, click Finish then Close.

Step 3:  Using the Navigation Pane to manage the generic account (See Image).

Step 4:  Sending emails on behalf of the generic account.

Step 5: Giving other users access to the generic account.
