A world premiere dance-theater meditation on sex, lies and deathwish eroticism co-commissioned by the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts and Miami Dade College. Today, sex is different. There are new questions, new answers, new lies. Conceived by South Florida choreographer Octavio Campos’ new performance collective, Camposition Inc., The Bugchasers draws attention to the dream of the perfect body ruined by the realization of our own mortality. The so-called “bug chasers,” young men who want to be infected with HIV, is just one phenomenon explored in this new, unsettling work.
