Symposium on
Environmental Sustainability at MDC:
Funding Opportunities and MDC Goals
9 am - 1:30 pm
(Organic Lunch Served)
Reference#
560163
This symposium will bring
MDC faculty, staff and administration together to assess the status of
environmental sustainability at the College, and update MDC's
Sustainability Goals. Topics for discussion will include potential
funding sources and strategies for promoting environmental literacy
among our faculty, staff and students. Key individuals from Facilities,
Purchasing, Resource Development and educational initiatives will report
on the current status of the College's efforts. Participants will have
the opportunity to network with others to explore ideas and approaches
that could be implemented within the College, to achieve a lighter
ecological footprint.
Finally, participants will be asked to identify sustainability
initiatives, such as grant opportunities that will help fund the
incorporation of sustainability into courses, discipline or departments,
and begin posting information on the new MDC SharePoint sustainability
site.
Written
reflections on the mornings activities are due within two weeks and will
be collected by the director of Earth Ethics Institute for workshop
credit. |
