Program Overview

This program prepares students to learn all aspects of the film industry through hands-on, production-oriented classes in the studio and on location. Students receive training in key areas of production such as cinematography, lighting, audio recording and editing, using high-end equipment to shoot 16mm film. Students are also exposed to video production and the business aspects of the film industry.

Program Details

The hands-on design of this program provides students with the foundation in both technical and creative components of film production to help strengthen future placement job potential. Areas of study include:

  • Cinematography
  • Scriptwriting
  • Digital Non-Linear Editing
  • Sound Recording and Editing

Career Prospects

This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in Film Production, such as assistant camera operator, set decorator, prop master, assistant editor, boom operator, audio utility, electrician and grip, or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. Students who pursue this course of study may also find employment in job roles such as:
