Faculty Support

May I bring my class in for a library orientation?

The MDC Libraries offer Library Instruction sessions by appointment. The sessions may include general information on using library resources, or may be tailored to suit your specific course needs. Contact a Reference Librarian at your campus for more information.

Can materials be placed on reserve?

MDC Faculty members may arrange to have certain materials placed on reserve for their students. Some campus libraries require all reserve materials to be used in-house, while others will circulate reserve materials according to the instructor's specifications. Contact your campus library's Circulation Desk for assistance. The Medical Center Campus Library's web site includes an excellent FAQ Page detailing the kinds of materials that may be placed on reserve, and important copyright guidelines.

May I request the purchase of materials to add to the library collection?

MDC Faculty members are encouraged to participate in library collection development. Contact a Reference Librarian at your campus for assistance. Faculty requests for the purchase of materials are considered based on various selection criteria and availability of funds. For more information, see the MDC Libraries Collection Development Policy.

Do Adjunct Faculty members have borrowing privileges?

Yes, but if you are an Adjunct you must renew your LINCC Account each semester by presenting a letter from your Department Chairperson verifying current employment.
