Bridge Option

Selection is based on the students’ cumulative grade point average (GPA) and successful completion of prerequisite courses. Students who are currently enrolled in all prerequisite courses of the chosen option are also eligible for selection.
The Bridge Option is designed for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and other individuals with specific health-related education and license/certification who desire to become Registered Nurses. Graduates earn an Associate in Science Degree and are eligible to apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination to become Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
This program is available in three (3) full-time semesters or a six (6) semesters part-time track, following completion of general academic course work. Students may begin the full-time Bridge Nursing Option in August or January. The part-time track is only offered in January.
The application deadline for Fall term is May 1st. The application deadline for Spring term is September 1st. A total of 72 credits is required for an Associate in Science degree, of which 42 consist of the nursing credits in the nursing curriculum. This program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON). Graduates are eligible to apply to write the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
The School of Nursing also offers this option online. The bridge online option allows for theoretical courses to be taken online. Students must attend clinicals for this option.
Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 is required.
