Academic Support Center Policies and Procedures

• All Miami Dade students, faculty and staff are welcome to the Academic Support Center. By rule, children and guests are not allowed in the labs. Individuals affiliated with the college have access upon special request.
• All students will, upon request, show their student ID to sign and out of the lab.
• Computer use is for academic study and research. Games, restricted web sites and non-academic videos are not permitted.
• Food and drinks are not allowed in the Academic Support Center.
• Cell phones and beepers must be in the silence/off mode. Make or take calls outside the labs.
• All personal property is the sole responsibility of the owner. Do not leave valuables unattended.
• Unless an emergency, the use of college telephones is limited to staff only.
• The cost of printing is: 8 cents per page for black and white, and 40 cents per page for color prints.Your unique pin number for printing is 6 digits: 2 for the month of birth, 2 for the day of birth and two for the year of birth, e.g. 011090 (January 10th, 1990)
• Disruptive individuals will be asked to leave and may be prohibited from further use of the facilities.
• Computer seating space and certain course resources are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The staff reserves the right to limit student time when others are waiting.
• Students must use the lab equipment as stated in college Policy VII-I-Use of Computing and On-line Resources.
• Students may not install any software on computers at any time. All student work should be saved to “My Documents” or a personal storage device (disk or flash drive).
• Unauthorized duplication of copyrighted material is prohibited and may result in disciplinary actions.
• Personal equipment (CD players, MP3 players, etc.) can only be used with permission of the staff and should not disturb other users.
• Student folders, as well as all documentation inside, are property of the Academic Support Center
