Course Description

The purpose of this training is to encourage the inclusion of children with disabilities in child care by promoting positive attitudes, creating developmentally appropriate environments and providing resources and information.  The ten-hour training emphasizes strategies for adapting child care environments to meet the needs of children with disabilities.  If this then-hour course is used as part of the required forty-hour certification, it must be completed within one year of the starting date.  It is a requirement of administrators of child-care facilities.

Evaluation

Students evaluate the course by using the Children With Special Needs Form.

Make-up

There is no make-up.  Students are encouraged to attend class on the scheduled dates.  If one class is missed, students must retake the entire class.
