This 63-hour course is state-required for students who want to take the state examination to become a real estate salesperson. The course is an introduction to basic principles of real estate.
TOPICS: Real estate market, taxation, appraising, basic instruments used in real estate transactions (i.e., contracts, deeds, and leases), and real estate license laws. The Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) Handbook will also be reviewed.
If a student misses more than 8 class hours, the student must register and pay for the course again. This is a regulation of FREC, not Miami-Dade Community College.
FINAL EXAMINATION: The three-hour end-of-course examination is given on the last day of the course. Students must pass this exam with a 70% or better. Exam results are mailed to FREC and the student. This then qualifies the student to apply for the State of Florida examination.
