Meet the people who run Beta Alpha Iota!
President
Paige Stout I am a thirty-nine yr old single mom of an adopted son named Asa. My son, Asa, makes me want to be a better me, learning to be the wind beneath his wings so he can soar into to adulthood with as few of problems as possible. He is the reason I decided to go back to school and get my masters degree in nursing. One, I want him to look up to me, and two, I want a better future for him and me in the end. I am a 4.0 student, which is what brought me to PTK in the spring semester of 2005. By the beginning of the summer semester I became the president of the Beta Alpha Iota chapter of PTK here at Homestead campus at Miami Dade College. My goal as president is to lead our chapter to 5 Star status and many Hallmark Awards by the time my presidency rein has been completed at the end of the fall semester. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, I am very honored to be your president for the summer and fall semesters of 2005. I will graduate with my AA degree in the spring of 2006 and will be moving on to University of Miami in the fall. |
Secretary
Christina Vliet
Hey, I'm Christina Vliet. I'm a sophomore in
Miami-Dade this year and am studying to be a
Nutritionist. You have probably seen me around campus
as I'm not only a student and active in PTK, but a
tutor over at the Homestead Campus Learning Support
Lab. I tutor Chemistry and Algebra over there
currently.
Before Miami-Dade I was homeschooled. I have lived in
Homestead since Sept. 2003 and was a regular visitor
before then.
As the PTK secretary I basically keep notes of the
meetings we have, take minutes, keep track of the PTK
points currently, and attend every meeting. So if you
go to a PTK meeting, I will almost no doubt be there!
I hope to see more active involvement in the group and
I hope to see many of the 2004 freshman get active in
PTK, it is very very rewarding. |
