The Honors College at Miami Dade College is a place where academically gifted students explore new ideas and collaborate with exceptional faculty in an intimate learning community. The Honors College offers a rigorous curriculum with an array of courses, seminars, and enrichment activities. At the InterAmerican Campus, this curriculum involves an intensive dual language program in English and Spanish.

The transition from high school to college is especially challenging during the first year. As students maintain a full course load, satisfy their service hours requirements, and take on leadership roles on campus or the community, you may see less of them at home. They will be inspired to do their very best and will want to invest time into their studies and other commitments. Although we encourage them to have a balanced life their academics will take priority. We invite you to be supportive as they learn to manage all of these responsibilities.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The Honors College has scheduled several information sessions for parents of freshmen students. These sessions are designed to help families understand what Honors Students experience at The Honors College and also provide important information. It is particularly important for parents to understand the different considerations that inform the transfer process and decisions. We look forward to seeing you and your family at these program sessions. More detailed information will be provided throughout the semester.
