Employee Flexible Benefits
This program is a unique approach to benefit programs
which not only allows employees to exercise greater personal choice in the
benefits they choose; but also permits employees to pay for those benefits
with before-tax dollars rather than after-tax dollars. In addition,
employees may establish spending reimbursement accounts for Health Care
and/or Dependent Care. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has published
guidelines which defines the rules under which the Flexible Benefit Plans
can be operated.
Note: Effective January 1, 2011, no over-the-counter medicine or drug (with the exception of insulin) may be reimbursed by the Health FSA without a legal prescription for the same.
