Holidays/Recess Periods

Instructional personnel on basic year contract are scheduled to work Fall, Spring, Summer Session A or Fall, Spring, Summer Session B based on student and program needs. If instructional personnel work during a non-scheduled six-week term, they are paid at the overload rate.

All full-time faculty, professional exempt contractual (PEC), professional exempt non-contractual (PENC), and support non-exempt (SNE) personnel shall observe the specific holidays and recess period(s) for the academic/fiscal 2015-2016 calendars as follows:

August 2015

August 1, 2015 Last day of Basic Year Contract (197 days) for instructional personnel working Summer Session B.

August 19, 2015 Last day of Flexible (197 days) and Extended Year Contracts (215 days) for instructional personnel.

August 20, 2015 Contract beginning date for instructional personnel.

   
September 2015  

September 5-7, 2015 Observance of Labor Day for instructional personnel.

September 7, 2015 Observance of Labor Day for non-instructional personnel.

   
November 2015  

November 11, 2015 Observance of Veterans Day for instructional and non-instructional personnel.

November 26-27, 2015 Observance of Thanksgiving Holiday for non-instructional personnel.

November 26-29, 2015 Observance of Thanksgiving Holiday for instructional personnel.

   
December 2015  

December 20-31, 2015 College Winter Recess for instructional personnel.

December 21-24, 28, 31, 2015 College Winter Recess for non-instructional personnel, except for those employees needed to work on the ERP implementation project such as, but not limited to, those who are core team members and employees from any district division or any campus that may be needed to support the conversion, participate in the testing of the system, or in any other necessary task.

December 25, 2015 Observance of Christmas Day for non-instructional personnel.

   
January 2016  

January 1, 2016 Observance of New Year’s Day for non-instructional personnel.

January 1, 2016 College Winter Recess for instructional personnel.

January 16-18, 2016 Observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for instructional personnel.

January 18, 2016 Observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for non-instructional personnel.

   
February 2016  

February 13-15, 2015 Observance of Presidents’ Day for instructional personnel.

February 15, 2015 Observance of Presidents’ Day for non-instructional personnel.

   
March 2016  

March 25, 2016 Spring Recess Day for non-instructional personnel.

March 25-27, 2016 Spring Recess for instructional personnel.

   
May 2016  

May 2-6, 2016 Semester Break for instructional personnel.

May 28-30, 2016 Observance of Memorial Day for instructional personnel.

May 30, 2016 Observance of Memorial Day for non-instructional personnel.

   
June 2016  

June 18, 2016 Last day of the Basic Year Contract (197 days) for instructional personnel working Summer Session A.

   
July 2016  

July 2-4, 2016 Observance of Independence Day for instructional personnel.

July 4, 2016 Observance of Independence Day for non-instructional personnel.

July 30, 2016 Last day of the Basic Year Contract (197 days) for instructional personnel working Summer Session B.

   
August 2016  

August 17, 2016 Last day of Flexible (197 days) and Extended Year Contracts (215 days) for instructional personnel.
