Salary Offer Guidelines
I. Full-Time Salary Analysis (New, Change,
Promotion, Demotion and Re-Hire)
- Hiring Department supervisor requests salary analysis
- E-mail salary offer quote request to HRSalaryOfferRequests@mdc.edu.
- Submit position number and title as well as applicant name in the request.
- Hiring Department
- Present salary offer to candidate contingent upon successful completion of background check.
- The following must be included in Application package:
- Start/End Date of each job indicating month and year
- State whether each job is full or part-time
- Explain any gaps in service
- Licenses or certificates, if required for position
- Transcripts for all universities or colleges attended
- Foreign Degrees require an official translation and evaluation in order to ensure degree equivalency with the United States
- It is the applicant's responsibility to pay for the evaluation from a certified NACES (www.naces.org) translator
- Employment performs salary analysis for recommended candidate
- Up to 5 business days of receipt
- Candidate possessing additional years of experience beyond the minimum job requirements, certain expertise or specialized skills may be awarded additional compensation above minimum salary.
- Includes comparable compensation equity analysis based on years of experience and credentials of other full-time employees with the same job class
- Employment contacts hiring supervisor to discuss salary offer
- Salary negotiations will not be conducted or discussed with the selected candidate
- Upon Candidate's acceptance of approved salary offer, hiring department submits following documentation:
- Request for Personnel Action
- Original application form
- Three (3) Current original letters of reference
- Official transcripts for all colleges or universities attended
- Foreign degrees require an official translation and evaluation in order to ensure degree equivalency with the United States
- It is the applicant's responsibility to pay for the evaluation from a certified NACES (www.naces.org) translator.
- Official certifications, if applicable
W-4 Form (withholding allowance)
- Human Resources processes Request for Personnel Action
- Start date based on official Request for Personnel Action/Payroll Calendar deadlines
- Employee should not start new position before Human Resources approval/processing
II. Part-Time Hourly Quote Guidelines
- Hiring Department submits a copy of the candidate's application, resume, transcripts and job description or job posting to Employment (fax 7-0961)
- The Employment Specialist reviews for appropriate job classification/hourly rate
- Up to 48 hours of receipt
- Based on the minimum requirements of determined job classifications
