Benefits Information For Full-Time Employees
Welcome to Miami Dade College.  As a new full-time employee of MDC, you will have the opportunity to apply for participation in all group insurance programs offered by the college. The Benefits Department has prepared the following summary of benefits for your information.  Full details may be obtained in the College Human Resources office.  MDC has a comprehensive benefits package, which includes the core benefits: Group Health, Dental, Life Insurance, and Retirement benefits (through the Florida Retirement System).  In addition, MDC offers the following series of voluntary benefits: Income Protection/Group Disability, Group Legal Services, Tax Shelter Annuity Plans (403B), Family Protection Insurance, and other valuable benefits.

Please note:
Select the benefit program in which you wish to enroll very carefully.  Once your membership in the program begins, no change in the program may be made until an annual open enrollment period is offered.  You may be allowed to make certain changes in your coverage if you experience a Qualifying Event (QE) in your personal life and you notify the Benefits Department within 31 days of the QE. Qualifying events are:

    1. Marriage
    2. Divorce or Death of a dependent
    3. Birth of a child or adoption of a child
    4. Loss of prior coverage

Other benefits may be available to you at your Campus such as Wellness Centers and college wide workshops.

Day Care Facility
MDC offers day care facilities for employees and students.  The North Campus Day Care Facility is located at 11380 NW 27 Ave, Bldg.#300.  For information, call (305) 237-1747 or visit the North Campus website.

Vision Care (Medical Center Campus)
The Medical Center Campus operates two on-campus clinics where students in the Dental Hygiene and Vision Care Technology/Opticianry programs receive most of their clinical experiences. The clinic for the Vision Care Technology/Opticianry program boasts four examination rooms with ancillary patient rooms and an ophthalmic laboratory. Both of the clinics are open by appointment to the community at large. Free eye examinations and dental cleanings are available to all employees, students and public in general at the Medical Campus.  For more information please contact the Medical Center Campus at (305) 237-4000.
