The Foreign Language Program emphasizes the instruction of languages other than English. French, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish are the primary languages currently offered in the department. In addition, due to the large Hispanic and Haitian-Creole populations in Miami. Spanish and Haitian-Creole for Native Speakers are much in demand. These courses enablestudents to refine their native language skills. In addition, courses in Haitian-Creole, Latin American, and Spanish literature enhance the students' understanding of the richness of their cultural background.
