General
  1. How can I contact Media Services?
    1. To contact Media Services please call our main line at 305.237.6892 or visit our office in room 1220.
  2. How do I properly view this website?
    1. To properly view this website please use standard based web browsers such as Mozilla FireFox or Apple Safari. Non-standards compliant browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer may incorrectly render CSS and miss interpret JavaScript code. The Adobe Flash Plug-in is also required to view the various flash based ads on this site. For video playback Apple Quicktime Player is required. To view PDF files Adobe Acrobat Reader is requires. Recommmend monitor resolution 1024 x 768 and above.
Design & Print
  1. Who do I need to send the required approval form to?
    1. The approval form needs to be sent to the Media Services department in room 1220. The approval form can be sent via inter-office mail, via fax at ext. 7-6186 or scanned and attached via email to our Design & Print staff.
  2. If I have artwork to provide for a print job; What format should I send it in?
    1. Artwork should be sent in Adobe PDF, PSD, AI, TIFF, PNG, Microsoft Word, or Publisher formats ONLY.
Audio & Video
  1. What video codecs do you support?
    1. We currently support Quicktime, Windows Media, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-3, H.264/MPEG-4, AVI, and DIVX video formats.
Classroom Support
  1. Can I use the professor station or computer in cart to play DVDs?
    1. Yes. Most computers have a DVD drives and DVD software such as PowerDVD. Closed Captions (CC1) are not available by using a computer though.
  2. When using a multimedia cart, how do I change the display from computer to the document camera and back?
    1. That’s usually done manually; look for a button on the projector that says “input” or “source” until the desired display shows up.
  3. When I try to log on I get a message that says "MDCC domain Not Available" and I’m
    not able to log in. What should I do?
    1. That’s usually the Ethernet cable that is unplugged. Make sure the RJ45 Ethernet cable is connected at both ends. Try to login again. If that doesn’t help, call Media Services for help at 7-6892.
  4. Can I get a Macintosh instead of a PC in my cart?
    1. Carts equipped with Macintosh Computers are currently not available.
  5. What do I do if the projector image suddenly shuts off?
    1. Turn off the projector, chances are that it is overheated and needs a few minutes to cool down.
  6. I have clicked "System Power On" on room control and chose "Computer" but I
    still do not have sound. How do I enable sound on the computer?
    1. If you have selected "System On" and you have Computer selected but do not hear sound, most likely the Volume Control on the PC itself is either too low or muted. The Room Control Volume bar and the Volume Control on the PC are separate. To make sure that the Volume Control on the PC is not muted or low, please follow these steps. Access the "Start Menu" on your PC, then choose "All Programs", once there, then choose "Accessories". When that tab has opened search in "Entertainment" and Select "Volume Control". There you can access The Volume for the PC.
  7. Is there an audio device in classrooms that allow me to play CD's?
    1. Yes, all computer's in building 1000 and 3000 are compatible in playing Audio CDs and Data CDs.
Event Support
  1. How do I reserve a room or location for an event?
    1. To check for room availibilty and to reserve a room or location for an event please place an appropriate request. Please be aware that it is the client's responsibility to make a reservation BEFORE placing an Event Request.
